Connecting the Blood Community

Our Blood Institute

Our Blood Institute (OBI) is one of the largest independent blood centers in the United States, serving areas in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. They collect, process, and distribute blood and blood products to hospitals and healthcare facilities, ensuring a steady and safe supply for patients in need of transfusions, surgeries, or emergency care. OBI also engages in medical research and clinical trials related to blood health and transfusion services.

Their mission is to provide life-saving blood products while promoting a culture of community support and volunteerism. Through partnerships with local businesses, schools, and organizations, they host blood drives and donor recruitment programs, aiming to increase awareness about the importance of blood donation. OBI is known for its commitment to patient care, community service, and innovation in blood banking technologies.

Global Blood Fund

Global Blood Fund (GBF) is a charitable organization dedicated to improving access to safe and sustainable blood supplies in low- and middle-income countries. Their mission is to support and empower blood services around the world, particularly in regions where blood donation rates are low and the infrastructure for safe blood collection is underdeveloped.

GBF provides equipment, training, and resources to help blood centers and hospitals improve their collection, testing, and distribution processes. They also focus on raising awareness about the importance of voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation, helping to build local capacities for sustainable blood systems. Through partnerships with organizations, blood banks, and governments, GBF works to close the gap in global blood supply and reduce preventable deaths due to blood shortages. Their work is essential in ensuring that life-saving blood is available to everyone, regardless of geographic or economic barriers.

Faith In Blood

Faith in Blood is a non-profit organization focused on increasing awareness and participation in voluntary blood donation through faith-based communities. Their mission is to encourage individuals from diverse religious backgrounds to donate blood as an act of service, compassion, and faith. Recognizing that many people are motivated by their spiritual beliefs to help others, Faith in Blood partners with churches, mosques, synagogues, and other religious institutions to host blood drives and education programs.

The organization emphasizes the importance of blood donation as a vital, life-saving act that aligns with the values of charity, kindness, and community service present in many faith traditions. By fostering collaboration between blood centers and religious groups, Faith in Blood seeks to address blood shortages, particularly in underserved areas, and to create a culture of giving that reflects spiritual principles. Their efforts help to ensure that more people have access to the life-saving gift of blood, while also promoting unity and social responsibility.
